by ghis
This year's release of Firefox 3.5 gave us a lot of reasons to like it, but its extensibility remains everyone's favorite feature. These add-ons and theme tools were the most popular in the year gone by.

Firefox/Projects/Eradicate Startup Dialogs - MozillaWiki

by srcmax

In many cases start up dialogs represent some form of failing, ranging from a failing of engineering (unable to find or implement a cleaner solution), a failing of design (unable to determine the best approach) or a failing of security (delegating a decision so that we can blame the victim). In all of these cases the dialog itself is simply the manifestation of a larger problem that we need to attack.

Ubiquity - Don't surf the web. Command it ! - - Mozilla Labs »

by decembre
Ubiquity is an experiment into connecting the Web with language in an attempt to find new user interfaces that make it possible for everyone to do common Web tasks more quickly and easily. It's a Firefox extension, so it works on Macs, Windows, and Linux. With only a couple keystrokes, it lets you use language to instruct your browser. You can translate to and from most languages, add maps to your email, edit any page, twitter, check your calendar, search, email your friends, and much more. All without leaving the page you're on.

by night.kame

Again, this is a bug in Firefox. Don’t ask me to use another domain name for the shortened URLs. If no one uses IDN domain names, what will motivate developers to fix (or work around) IDN bugs?)

Comment, Firefox laisse trainer des bugs dans les spécs existantes et préfère passer du temps sur les wannabe spécs ? Nooooooon.

Firefox's Plan to Kick the Login's Butt

by srcmax (via)

Identity will be one of the defining themes in the next five years of the Web. Nearly every site has a concept of a user account, registration, and identity. Searching for "sign in" on Google yields over 1.8 billion hits. And yet, the browser does nothing to make this experience better save for some basic auto form filling. The browser leaves websites to re-implement identity management, and forces users to learn a new scheme for every site... Your identity is too important to be owned by any one company.
